Cape Horn to Pto Natales

'Australis' is planning 2 'NEW' trips in Patagonia incluing Cape Horn.

We will be sailing from Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world in autumn while the wind sculptured nothafagus is at its colourful best & so we can enjoy the calmest weather. We will sail to Cape Horn then return into the fiords of Patagonia through the best of the glacier region in the Darwin Cordillera where the snow capped mountains climb to 7000 ft & the condors fly effortlessly. Then we head for the famous Magellan Strait with its stunning mountain scenery. Finally, just before the Magellan meets the Pacific we turn north into the intricate maze of islands & fiords to reach Puerto Natales which is the starting point for the Torres del Pine National Park. The route we will take gives the potential for mountaineering, kayaking (we have 3 kayaks onboard), photography, hiking & generally exploring. This part of Patagonia, & indeed this part of the world is very rarely visited because access is only possible by boat. We will be secured in safe, calm anchorages every night & travel by day in the protected fiords. The distance is approx 550 mls & the 21 days gives us plenty of time so we dont have to travel all the time, then we can enjoy the special places & features that make Southern Patagonia so unique. These 2 trips are ideal for individuals or groups & could be linked with a trek in the Torres del Pine National Park.
